Kayla’s Story
I was diagnosed at 16 years old in November of 2006. It’s been over a decade of me living with type 1 and because of type 1 i am proud of the women I am today. Without type 1 I wouldn’t have the compassion I have for others. With the compassion type 1 taught me I do meet ups for other type 1 diabetics so they don’t feel so alone as once did. All my spare time goes into helping others with battling type 1, volunteering or doing my own projects to make the community stronger. If I could encourage anyone it would be to go out and make a difference in this community or use your voice. You never know who might relate to your story.
